Dr. Johnson attended Loyola University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology while moonlighting at the Swedish Covenant Hospital. As he worked at the hospital during college he became friends with some of the staff dentists and his pursuit of a career in dentistry began. Dr. Johnson earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Chicago's University of Illinois College of Dentistry and upon graduation joined the medical and dental staff at Swedish Covenant Hospital. In addition to working in private practice, he worked several days a week in a Northshore periodontal practice where he had hands-on exposure to non-surgical periodontal treatments. Ultimately, Dr. Johnson put his hospital experience to work while treating patients as staff dentist at several North suburban nursing homes before joining Arlington Heights Dental Group in early 1998. Patients treated by Dr. Johnson will enjoy his sense of humor and ability to make even the most nervous relax during their dental procedures. Some of his interests and non-work related activities revolve around his daughter's sports, auto-racing as "doctor tooth" and travel with his wife and daughter. Dr. Johnson and his assistant Lena are always excited about meeting and treating new patients and if you sit in their dental chair -- be prepared to laugh! |

Katie Nay - HygienistI've been a patient at Arlington Heights Dental Group since 1998 and started dental assisting for Dr. Grise during college. I graduated from Harper College in 2002 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science and Certificate of Dental Hygiene. After graduation, I was fortunate enough to begin practicing Dental Hygiene at our office. The warm and friendly staff and up-to-date technology at Arlington Heights Dental Group makes this a wonderful office to work for and receive dental care. As a Hygienist, I educate and treat each patient based on their individual needs and believe it is important to understand the relationship between a healthy mouth and a healthy body. |
I graduated from the school of Dental Hygiene Harper College in 1997, where I served as board chair person for the Student Association of Dental Hygiene. I've been in practice for 12 years with Arlington Heights Dental Group. I briefly practiced in Switzerland for 8 months 1998-1999 and enjoyed working in a foreign country and traveling, but eagerly returned to Arlington Heights Dental Group. I love working with people to help them understand the importance of oral hygiene and the role it plays with their overall health. I strive to individualize oral hygiene instruction to suit each person's needs. Working with the patients and doctors in this practice is truly a joy! |
